PASTORS VS DOCTORS

PASTORS VS PHYSICAL DOCTOR đź’ˇ

To new believers of Jesus Christ, this is for you to wake up and have a good knowledge about it, as it says in the scriptures, "You shall know the truth, and it will set you free" (John 8:32).

There's a distinction between physical and spiritual sicknesses. While physical ailments require medical attention from doctors who've acquired knowledge through study and training, as it says, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones" (Proverbs 17:22).

Spiritual sicknesses necessitate spiritual healing. According to the scriptures, "Is any one of you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord" (James 5:14-15), believers can seek spiritual healing through prayer and anointing with oil, trusting in God's power to restore their spiritual well-being, as it is written, "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases" (Psalm 103:2-3).

You can suffer from both physical and spiritual sides, and at some point, a spiritual sickness can manifest into physical sickness. It's wise to seek both sides—pastors and doctors—because they work under God's guidance. Before doctors, God gave scientists knowledge to develop medicine, anticipating the devil's attacks on our physical bodies. Similarly, God ordained pastors to address spiritual attacks.

What God looks for from us is to know Him as a mighty Healer and give Him the glory. As it says, "What, then, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task" (1 Corinthians 3:5-7).

The scriptures also say, "To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit" (1 Corinthians 12:8-10), highlighting the role of spiritual gifts in healing.

God's wisdom and power are evident in both physical and spiritual healing, relying on faith, prayer, and the Holy Spirit's presence, as seen in the stories of healing in the Bible, such as the woman with the flow of blood (Mark 5:25-34) and the prayer, "Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise" (Jeremiah 17:14).
